Still sick and thinking of quitting Zynga games.
I don’t know what is going on but I think I have food
poisoning or something. Tuesday I
stopped at Jack in the Box on the way home.
I got the double bacon cheeseburger and large fries. I got the same thing for Judy and I got kid’s
meal for Kevin. I got home and Judy had
already eaten but she also brought David home with her so we gave it to
him. Kevin was still sick so he just had
juice. Anyway later that night I had
diarrhea and did not feel well.
Yesterday when I got home I cooked some canned chicken chow
mien and after eating that last night every time I burped I could taste the
noodle aftertaste and my diarrhea turned to liquid. All night long I was heading for the restroom
to either puke or go to the can.
By this morning I do not think I have anything left in my
system to crap out or throw up so I am going to drink water throughout the day
and I will get a couple cans of chicken soup to eat today when I get home.
David ate the same exact food I did the past two days and he
is not sick, so I think I caught whatever bug the Kevin has. I will just be real careful in what I eat
over the next couple of days and hopefully everything will get back to normal.
Again I am getting very frustrated with Zynga games and then
I read something posted in one of the groups I hang out with, that since they
went IPO they are all about the money and they are trying to drive out the
veteran players and cater to new players.
The way they are trying to drive us away is by overloading the missions
and making it impossible to complete them without buying face book cash. I have bought face book cash in the past, but
I will no longer support buying it for Zynga games and am debating whether to
just quit playing Café World. Games
should be fun, not like a job and they have taken all the fun out of the game.
They should also be banned from charging people cash for
games that are still in Beta testing, full of bugs, and do not work 100% of the
time. All in all Zynga is losing me as
a customer and from the group I play with they are going to lose many more. When you tick off your customer base as Zynga
seems to be doing, I do not know how they expect to make any money.
In the other newsworthy item here in San Diego the federal
government went through and closed down three medical marijuana distributors
yesterday. They now have all these folks
whining and crying on TV that they will have to go up to LA or Orange counties
to get their fix. Medical marijuana is
just a hoax. I am glad to see the
government shutting them down. These
medical marijuana folks are the same folks that are doing spice. Any legal way to get high is good for
them. That is why society in going down
the toilet. So much of the younger
generation want handouts and want to be stoned all the time. You survive by hard work and advancing
yourself. Not by occupying and trying to
take more from those folks who have worked hard to get what they have.
Oh, and I almost forgot.
BZ to the prison parole review board that decided to keep former CHP
officer Craig Peyer in prison for another 15 years. About 25 years ago he pulled over and
strangled college student Cara Knott in a deserted area off the I-8 Freeway in
San Diego and through her off an overpass.
He has had his parole denied again.
This person should never be paroled as he used his position of public
trust to commit a terrible crime. People
like this man should never be let loose on the streets.
That is my view on things for today. It is time to get to work now.

Illness, pot holes, and politics
It is Wednesday and so far it has been a so do day. First off I got up this morning with a bad
case of diarrhea. The only thing I ate
last night was a double cheeseburger and fries from Jack In the Box and it
actually appeared to be well done so either I have a stomach bug or
something. Anyway I think I have all the
crap out of my system and so I am ready to get to work.
The ride in was uneventful until got to Highland and Beta to
make my right turn towards the base. I
went through a huge pot hole and it kind of scared me by the loud sound and the
shaking that happened when I hit it. I
was looking at the stop light so I did not see the hole until it was too late.
Because the Federal, State, County, and City budgets are all
circling the drain, roads and other services have take a back seat to the
pension funds, welfare, reduced rates for illegal aliens to go to college, K-12
education for illegal immigrants, and all the other things politicians are
wasting money on.
Yesterday I saw the selected one, Mitt Romney win another
state. If he is nominated I will
officially leave the Republican Party. I
am so tired of their blind put the next one up there because he has been loyal
to the party. The political parties
have broken our system of government and I think it is time for everyone to
abandon them and become an independent.
As I complained yesterday, I do not need folks in Iowa, New
Hampshire, or any other state with a population less than the county I live in
picking who I will have an opportunity to vote for. It is time to stop this crap and either have all the primaries the same day in
all states or better than that, just let everyone run that wants to. Who is to say if we only have one Democrat or
one Republican run? Let them all go at
it. Make things interesting.
Well time for me to get ready to start the work day.

So today is the New Hampshire primary. I am wondering, why is it that the candidates
are selected from these small little states on the east coast. I think the system needs to be changed and if
they are going to use primaries they all have to be on the same day throughout
the US. Iowa, New Hampshire, Florida and
South Carolina do not speak for the entire US.
Yeah I live in the Socialist Republic of California and by
the time we get to have our primary everyone has been chosen already, and
though I am a registered Republican I actually vote Independent I would like to
have a say at who is running. That
cannot happen under the current system which I think is totally stupid.
Tin Tin has something similar to kidney stones and will have
to tolerate the pain for a couple more months until the baby is born. If they operate to take them out it will
affect the baby so Laila is going to keep her on a very strict diet and keep
her hydrated.
Kevin has a nasty cold so he was not in the greatest of
moods last night. After we gave him some
children’s Tylenol he settled down and went to bed early.
Last night I watched the reruns on Fox and CBS, and
thankfully tonight my entire schedule is new.
I will have new shows and I am starting DAMA with the other part of the
class. That means the whole day will be
all new so it should be a great day.
Speaking of a great day, it is almost ready to start so I
had better get going.

The holidays are officially over and today everyone in the
building was back to work. Since we
finished the area last week my class was going to field day the classroom but
we wound up doing a test equipment inventory instead.
It was a little fun in that they knew what the
oscilloscopes, multimeters, counters, and signal generators were, but when it
came to the various attenuators, spectrum analyzers, and other specialized
equipment I had to point them out so they knew what they were.
The junior class is going through their transmit practice
PT’s so I was helping out there too! My
class is now gone for the day and I have the DAMA classroom all laid out for
tomorrow so I guess I will help out in the lab this afternoon.
Over the weekend I managed to get my laundry done, get the
car washed, the house cleaned and I also cleaned out all the old leftovers in
the refrigerator. I also washed up all
the food storage containers and bowls, so I feel I did get some things accomplished
for a change. I even helped a neighbor
move a couch though I paid for it later with a painful arm and back.
I am a little worried about Laila’s daughter in law. She is about 6 or 7 months along in her
pregnancy and I guess she was throwing up so bad they had to rush her off to
the hospital. I hope everything is
alright and I also hope it does not cost too much as I know they don’t have it
and since it is tax time neither do I.
Other than that I kept up with my games, watched some TV,
caught a little of the Denver/Pittsburgh game, and watched the new offerings of
TV shows. I am getting so sick of
reruns. I checked out the schedule for
tonight and everything I normally watch on Monday will be reruns. Tonight both House and Hawaii 5 O will be
reruns and I just do not understand why.
I also hear that possibly this could be the last season for House and
when I read that it kind of depressed me, but I see that the story lines have
been going south for the last couple of seasons so it does not surprise me that
much.
I am wondering why they are bothering to even have debates
on ABC and NBC. The moderators are
obviously liberal hacks and it just made the candidates look like fools. The one thing the debates did do was drive
the two most conservative candidates, Bachmann and Cain out and we are not left
with much. Of the ones that are left I
guess the least offensive is Santorum.
Well I guess that is about it for now. I have just one more scat to redraw for my
current Power Point Project and I can get quite a bit of that knocked out during
lunch.

Mouser Electronics, great customer service
I am in a happy mood today and it all stems from getting a
lot of stuff done yesterday and getting some good news about an order I had
placed and had received the wrong item.
We are getting ready to print out a new batch of SCAT packs
and I had a lot of scats that I have redone, made more legible, corrected
errors and all. I finally figured out
the proper settings for the copier to make them come out right and so I had to
print them out in 8.5 by 11 format at home and then blow them up to 11 by 17 on
the copier. I got that all done
yesterday and then enlarged them first thing this morning.
The second thing that happened was a parts order I had put
in for a project I and a few others have been working on. We are trying to repair our bad spares in the
lab so everyone chipped in and we bought some components to repair the
modules. I ordered the components online
as we can usually get them faster than getting them through the supply system. Some of the parts received were wrong and I
contacted the company. I got an
immediate reply and they are shipping me the right parts at no cost to me. They told me to hold on to the wrong ones,
but I will send them back. I can’t use
them and I am so happy to see accompany with good customer service so I will
send them back to them.
So if you have to order electronic components order them
from Mouser Electronics. This is not the
first time I have used them and they have always come through. This is the first time I have had an order
that was incorrect and they corrected it right away, so they have a lifelong
customer now.
Other than that today the class is testing out of DAMA and I
am looking forward to a quiet weekend.
So with that in mind I will get this saved and finish up the work
day. Have a great weekend.

This week is almost over already and actually it has gone by
really fast. We have been pretty busy
this week getting the systems part of DAMA knocked out and though it has been a
struggle at times we managed to get through everything and will test out Since DMR will not be ready to go until
Tuesday I guess we will just field day the lab on Monday.
Last night since there was not much of anything on before
Prime time I went ahead and watched Fox news, and I have to tell you, I am
getting angrier and angrier at all the Main Stream Media pushing Romney down
our throats. Even on Fox all you hear
from the talking heads is everyone should just bow out and unite behind
Romney. I am sorry but that is
unacceptable to me. If they decide to
just anoint Romney then the election will be just like it was in 2008 with
McCain. This time I will not hold my
nose and vote blindly for Romney. I will
vote conservative for Congress, Senate, State and Local, but I will vote third
party for President and just ensure that the conservatives take the house and
senate.
Romney is not a Conservative, and the way his PAC’s are
running a negative campaign behind the scenes turns me off. Sure Gingrich is not the greatest choice but
he does not deserve to be slimed.
Santorum will be the next victim of attack ads. Now with Bachmann out I guess the lesser of
all evils would be Santorum. Now we will
have to see what dirt they have drudged up on him.
Other than that it has been great to see that prime time TV
is now showing original programming again.
Reruns and specials have meant a really boring past two weeks. Monday was boring as the only new episode of
Hawaii 5-O. Tuesday was great with new
episodes of NCIS, NCIS-LA and Unforgettable.
Last night I watched that celebrity show on CBS where stars acted like
salesman and stuff. It was not too
bad. After that I watched Harry’s Law
and then the only show I had been waiting for last night Revenge. Of all the new shows I like Revenge and
Person of Interest best. Harry’s Law is
pretty good but usually I just DVR it, and tonight when I get home I still have
a DVR’ed CSI to watch. I sure wish they
would bring William Peterson back to CSI.
Fishburne and Danson just are not cutting it and with Helgenberger
leaving the show it may make it unwatchable for me.
Well that is it for today.
I guess I had better get ready to start this review.

Today is starting better than yesterday
After yesterdays disaster of a start to the day, today is
going much better. I got up on time, got
my Café World stuff done and since Laila was at her reunion thingy I left early
to avoid traffic at the base. The ride
in was quiet and today they had both gates open so I actually got to work about
15 minutes earlier than normal.
I went ahead and ran over to my lab and lit everything off
and everything came up right away and everything was working great. That is a huge change over the way things
have been working lately. So far I have
not heard of anything that will take the students away for any duties so this
morning I hope to get all the practice PT’s knocked out and then get the graded
PT’s out of the way this afternoon.
Tomorrow I will review for the test and then Friday they
will test out and be on their way to DMR and I will get the second group from
this class.
I watched a bit of the Iowa Caucus stuff last night. It was a shame to see Bachmann come in so low
and it looks like she will be dropping out.
I was a bit surprised with how good Santorum did and if I had to pick
one of the top three I would have to go for Santorum. I will never go with Romney or Paul and it
looks like the rest are finished.
Now I watch for the media to start dumping on Santorum as
they are really for a Romney/Obama race where they can McCain the Republican Party
again like they did in 2008. I for one
have kept my news watching to about a 5th of what it used to be and
do not even believe half of the stuff I see on Fox anymore.
And with that said I guess I will get this saved and get
ready for the work day. I have
everything ready to go and now it is time to get on with it. It should be a great day if they remember
what I showed them yesterday. Time will
tell.

The holidays are over so back to work I go
The holidays are over and so here we are back at work again
and I have to tell you that while I was looking forward to getting back into
the groove after all the time not teaching, so far the morning has been nuts.
They wanted us to be in early today so I got up early and I
left the house at about 6:15 instead of 6:45 like I usually do. There was almost no traffic at all until I
got near the base and then it was worse than I have seen it in years.
All the students are back meaning the base is supposed to be
back in semi full operation. This
morning they only had the 1 gate open and then they only had two people manning
the gate. T make matters worse I was
behind a dump truck who was trying to get on base without a work order and it
took them about 5 minutes (maybe a little exaggerated) to convince him he could
not get on base and turn him around.
So instead of getting to work early I was actually a little
late for muster, though everyone else was too.
Then after getting here and getting everything set up for the day I
found that 1/3 of my class has urinalysis this morning which will delay me
getting caught up.
So needless to say, my new year is not starting out that
great. Maybe when I get rolling along
with the class things will be a little better.
And speaking of that I guess I had better get over and make some last
minute checks to make sure everything is still set up for today.

Thursday, December 29, 2011
I woke up in a great mood this morning. I got up on time and in fact had my shower
and all about 10 minutes earlier than normal.
I got down stairs early and Laila and I finished our morning prayers
early. Because of all the difficulties
getting on base in the morning over the holidays I left the house early. On my way to the freeway I did not see a
single car on the road until I got to Plaza Blvd and the freeway was very quiet
with very little traffic.
I decided since I was ahead of schedule I would stop and get
some breakfast and since there was only a small line at Jack in the Box I
figured I would stop there this morning.
That was when the morning started its turn south. I got stuck behind some moron, who decided to
read the entire menu before ordering, and then I don’t know what he ordered but
it took forever for them to get it to him.
So while waiting in the line at Jack in the Box I managed to lose all
the advantage of leaving early.
I got out of there and headed to the base and again there
was that line to get in the gate. If
people would use just a little common sense the gate would not be a problem,
but people do not use common sense.
There are a few alleyways that feed into the road that heads in the gate
and there were many folks actually letting the folks from the alleys cut into
the traffic. Then you have the same nice
people that let the folks from the alleys cut in that were also letting all the
people coming off base to make a left turn on to National Ave which also held
up the folks trying to get in the gate from the direction I was traveling.
So here I am sitting there in line and the light turned
green. I moved one car length. It turned green and I moved another car
length. By this time I am getting
steamed. I should have already been at
the intersection but do to people having their head in the clouds and being
nice to folks cutting in line I was not even close to the intersection.
Anyway, I finally made it to work and even though I made it
with plenty of time to spare, the ride in put me in a bad mood. I did eat my breakfast and I still have 20
minutes to go before we start working for the day.
Today we will work on a broken Multiplexer and I have to get
everything set up for my class since we will be back to normal on Tuesday. So I guess I will get this closed out, try
and get into a better mood, and get ready to start working.

Stop the spending already
After yesterday and the mess at the gate I got up a little
early this morning anticipating a backup.
I switched on the news while drinking my morning coffee and low and
behold there was a news traffic report saying traffic at the base was all
backed up.
Well I left early and managed to get here on time but not
after waiting in traffic for quite a while.
Anyway I am here and we have about 45 minutes until it is time to start
the work day.
Anyway there are a couple of things annoying me today. The
first one is the fact that the government is broke again and so they are asking
for another 1.2 Trillion Dollars. STOP
THE FREAKING SPENDING ALREADY. The
country is not just broke, it is bankrupt.
When are these Washington clowns going to figure out that they cannot
spend money they do not have.
Next I guess only Romney and Paul managed to get on the
primary ballot for the state of Virginia.
It is a primary and as so anyone should be able to get on the
ballot. All these other folks Bachmann,
Huntsman, Perry, Santorum, Gingrich, and even Cain, Palin and anyone else
should be able to be on the ballot. This
is a sure indication that our system is broken and it needs to be fixed.
Well I guess that is all I will complain and moan about
today. One of the ET1’s is returning
from vacation today and he wanted me to hold off on fixing one of the DAMA
units until he got back so I actually have something meaningful to do today,
once he gets here. So I guess I will get
this saved get setup to get started on the DAMA unit.
