Well so much for the three day weekend. Ma had me go to Home Depot, and as a result, I have been painting all day today. Now that it is early evening, I think I am pretty much done for the day. I went out and got a few slurpies for the wife and I and now I am sitting in my computer chair trying to recover.
And of course she is at the Home Depot getting more stuff for me to do tomorrow. She just had to wait until our other son stopped by with his truck so she could get molding and stuff that wouldn't fit in the car. Oh well, I guess that’s life as a homeowner. Always fixing something.
Since it is Memorial Day weekend some of the movie channels are showing a lot of those cool old WW2 movies. You know, from the days when Hollywood was Pro military instead of the way they are now. Anyway, I am watching "They were Expendable" right now. They knew how to make movies back in those days. Anyway, I guess that's about it for today.

It is now the start of Memorial Day weekend. This holiday is to honor all the folks that lost their life allowing us to have the freedoms we have. While you are out partying, traveling, or what ever else you will be doing please take a minute to think about what this holiday really means.
I also hope the press will do this as they seem to be so anti-military lately. If it were not for the military they would not have the freedom to report things in the careless and biased method they do.
The other day I blogged about that worthless piece of crap site Forsake the Troops. I don't know anyone that likes what this idiot has to say, but myself and the military people I know would still die to give him the right to say it.
That is what this weekend means. It is not for the Veterans or the current military members. It is for those that made the ultimate sacrifice. They gave their lives so you could enjoy the freedoms you have. Please remember them for that.

The Governator is catching flack
Last night and this morning on the news huge amounts of fire firghters, nurses and teachers were out protetsing about supposed budget cuts that he is making. I don't know much about the fire fighters and the nurses but with the teachers, they got more money than last year, just not as much as they expected. I blogged about this a couple of months ago and linked to the facts then. I will try and dig it up and post it as a link.
These people just don't seem to get it. The State is broke. You can't continue to spend $1.10 for each $1.00 taken in. Arnold has been trying to get the legislatures spending under control and has a lot of ballot measures coming out. Since he can't get the idiots in Sacramento to do anything he is taking it to the people.
The unions are going all out to try and get these measures voted down. They have huge advertising campaigns that distort the truth of flat out lie. I am thankful that there are enough conservative talk radio stations throughout the state to tell it like it is and keep these people from flushing the state further down the drain.
I am hoping that Arnold.s ballot measures will bring a lot of folks to the polls. If that happens some of these phony bologna politicians in Sacramento might wind up, unemployed.
It's time to take back the state from those who are spending it out of existance. Arnold's measures will do this and send a message.

I am bored. I am currently at work, but one of the disadvantages of teaching sailors is the Navy part. The entire class had to go to urinalysis testing today. They left at 8 AM and it is now 10AM and they are still not all back, so today is a bust. I have already aligned three radios while waiting for them, and also managed to surf some of my favorite blogs.
I wish I would have known it was going to take this long so I could have taken half a day of vacation time or something. Oh well, I guess that is the price I have to pay for having such a great job.
I was hoping Michelle Malkin's latest column was out but it's not out yet. I guess she will put it up a little later. I saw that newsweek is still in the hole after the Koran flushing story and are catching more heat over the Japanese cover showing the American Flag in the trash can. I gave up reading the liberal rag magazines long ago. Besides when they write something it will be up on the web anyway so why spend the money.
I was watching TV last night and they were doing a lot of advertising for new shows that are coming in the future. Isn't there something else that they can put on other than these darn reality shows. I guess they have one coming up where people try and get fired, a takeoff on the Apprentice. There were several others too. I don't watch them, and wish they would get some more good drama series type programs on. I am sure glad I have DSS so I have an alternative to the crap on the networks.
Well, I guess that is about it for now. They are coming back so I guess it is time to try and salvage what is left of the teaching day.

While I was sitting here trying to think of something to blog about, I was having a problem thinking about something to blog about. Everywhere I look I see folks blogging about the filibuster thing in the senate. Frankly I don't think nothing has changed, though the senators who think we are all morons and that they are the ruling class, are all over the TV set claiming victory.
This battle is not over. As soon as the President tries to put a conservative judge on the Supreme court all of this filibuster, nuclear option stuff will right back on the news again. In the meantime a few of his nominees that would have made it anyway will get approved.
All of this partisan stuff is beginning to get on my nerves. Since these guys can't seem to get anything done, other than partisan bickering I think it is about time to get rid of the whole lot of them next election.
My class is watching the contender tonight. I guess the entire class is really into the show. Instead I will be watching NCIS and House. NCIS because of all the interesting things they do on the show that they don't do in real life. And House because I like the way he is such a smartass. After that of course Law and Order, SVU. The wife loves that one.
Anyway I guess that is about it for tonight. I have to go raid at blogshares and mind my plushie factory at Neopets. I have such an interesting life, what can I say.

When my grandparents arrived at Ellis island back in the 1920's and 30's they had to go through a physical exam along with other little requirements to ensure the health of the people of the US. Now we have this:
Are illegals making
U.S. a leper colony?
We don't know what diseases these folks are bringing to this country. It is just another problem with unconrolled immigration to this country. Diseases that have been dead for years are coming back. It is just another reason to close the borders and keep these folks out.

Another weekend is nearing the end
Wow, this weekend went by fast. Friday our TV crapped out. I king of figured it was on it's last legs so today we went out and got another. To bad we have to wait for it to be delivered. Anyway until then we are still using the small one from the bedroom.
Other than that we did things like grocery shopping, and clothes shopping for the wife (boring). She has been losing weight and had to but some stuff that fits, an I don't mind going. It is just that it takes her so long to pick out something.
Other than that a little cleaning and a little relaxing, and tomorrow it's back to work for the week. It should be fun as we are starting the Receiver portion of the course tomorrow, and I like doing that as there are lots of scats. Antenna's is still my favorite area to teach because ours have alot of extra stuff on them to keep the antennas trained on the sattelite when the ship turns.
Well I guess that is it for tonight. Back to relaxing.

What's happening in San Diego
OK, time to get you’ all caught up on what is going on in San Diego. There have been a few interesting things in the news here lately that are worth blogging about.
As I have blogged about in the past our wonderful city is circling the drain mainly due to mismanagement of the city’s pension fund. Last week the indicted 6 retirement board folks for voting themselves large pension raises. These are felony indictments so these folks are looking at serious charges.
Corruption charges
The city council has finally agreed to put the cross at Mt. Soledad on the ballot. I would have rather have seen them just turn it over to the feds, but at least we will get to vote on it.
THE CROSS ON MT. SOLEDAD
Of course this has to be driving Donna Frye nuts. She is being supported by the big labor unions in her attempt at running for mayor, since Murphy is resigning. The cross is a big issue that will bring out a lot of conservative voters. This will offset her base of the young college brainwashed and radical leftists. It was very lucky that in the last election the folks voting for her were smart enough to write in her name, but then not smart enough to mark the box next to it. Now if only someone worth a darn would run. Where are you Ron Roberts?
And the case against two of our city councilmen seems to be rolling along and I think they are going to be found guilty. The FBI has too much on them. Anyway that should get you up to speed on what is happening here lately. Scary thought, Donna Frye, surf shop owner, and possible San Diego Mayor.

This is the most disgusting website I have ever seen.
I was happy, now that school is out and I am able to do a few things I haven't had the time to do, like watch Fox News, actually watch rather than have it on for background noise. I was especially happy to see Michelle Malkin filling in on the Factor, for Bill O'Reilly. She did an excellent job.
Well after that I was watching Hannity and Colmes when this real piece of manure, Micheal Crook of Forsake the Troops came on. Click on the bold italics to go to his site.
This guy is a real piece of work. He has stuff on his site like the following garbage:
U.S. Soldier= Poster child for retroactive abortion
Our underlying problem is this: the military is a lifestyle these morons chose. What idiot risks their life for a country? It's what they chose. Hopefully, they knew in their hearts this is abusing taxpayers' money, and they enlisted anyway. So...Forsake our Troops! Let 'em die in combat-- we don't need their ilk in this country!
Don't military pukes learn anything? Nine more Marines bite the big one in combat. Stupid is as stupid does!
Number of US soldiers killed in the Iraq War, of their own doing, because they CHOSE to be leeches: 1,583. These scumbags asked for it, and got it. Simper Cry.
I am too pissed to leave a post on his site, but then it would just be erased anyway. Don't people like this realize that if it weren't for the young soldiers, airmen, marines and sailors he would not even have his blog, let alone the ability to speak out about any issue.
I have seen some vile stuff posted on blogs, but this guy takes the cake. If he has a problem with the war he should take it up with his Congressman or Senator. He should not go after the people that are protecting his freedoms.
He is all bent out of shape about military members getting college benefits. Ok, sure I receive college benefits. I have the equivalent of about 4 years of college. What did it cost? 11 Westpac Deployments of over 6 month per deployment away from my family. All the time spent at sea getting ready for the deployments. Long hours while I was stationed on shore duty. 26 years of putting up with the way the military does things, as you don't get to pick your chain of command.
This ass raves about military pay. Anyone who has served in the ranks below E-5 would probably have a beef about this since most are borderline poor. You won't get rich in the military.
He wants us to pay for our on life insurance. Well the fact that most insurance companies do not cover war deaths doesn't seem to have popped into his head. When I went to Desert Storm, the wife and I insured me with some special Armed Forces Benefits Association to add to my Servicemen's Group Life Insurance, just in case something happened. SGLI only pays out $200,000 in the event of a death while on active duty. Yeah the rates are not that high but it is not a handout, and it is needed.
This ass is against base housing. I didn't really like base housing a lot but there were some times when I had to live there. For junior enlisted stationed far from home in high cost areas such as San Diego, there is no affordable housing, so it is needed.
I am not even going to go into how he feels military people are stupid and couldn't make it on the outside. I was an honor student in High School, Community College and now State College. At least when I was studying Civics, History and Government I was smart enough to know that without a military to protect the country from being taken over we would have no country.
I am sure after his stint on Hannity and Colmes, his website is being blasted by anyone who has relatives in the military, or ties to a servicemember. I would hope that whoever is hosting his blog would show the good taste of taking it down. I know blogdrive has standards and would get rid of something so offensive.
If this guy is so unhappy here I wish he would just move to Canada if they would have him, or better off, Cuba. Personally I would just like him to run into a group of marines in a back alley and sound off some of this disgusting BS he spews.
I have to end this post before I blow a gasket.

School is out for the summer. The alst test was a bear. First of all the teacher posted it a half hour late. After that it was all multiple choice and true false. I only needed to get a 65 on it to get an "A" in the class and it didn't seem that hard so I think I got my "A". Thanks to all the well wishers.
I will now start concentrating on making some $B on blogshares, Plushie Tycoon on Neopets, and of course trying to find good stuff to put on my blog.
I think the first thing that I will be posting is about Laila's latest $B sale. As soon as I find the particulars I will post tonight. She is trying to get some cash for her children's school tuition. It.s a good cause and since I have a paypal account and she doesn't we'll be doing it through my blog.
Anyway that is it for now. I have to get caught up on a few things and then I will get into some serious blogging.
