One of our dogs has passed away.

I am bummed, one of our poodles has passed away. I don't know how or why but I noticed him in the back yard and he was gone. Skrover good little dog though he did start a lot of the fights we had with the other males. He wasn't that old, I think about three years so I think either he picked one fight too many of a spider or snake may have gotten him as we have had alot of wildlife in the area this year, maybe due to all the rain we had earlier in the year.

Skrover was one of the poodles that really didn't have an owner. Poodles are very possessive and will pick one person in the house to hang with. He played with my son David alot and with my son-in-law Steve. I played with him a bit, but then Mr. Wiggles, my dog would get jealous. Anyway we buried him in the back yard and I while I feel really bad that this happened I am thankful that it wasn't one of the wife's dogs. With her being gone that would be very bad to have to explain.

Anyway, God Bless you little Skrover and may you have a great time in doggie heaven.

Recycling

Here is wonderful San Diego, recycling is suggested and they have issued us special blue trash cans to put our items that can be recycled in. They collect it every other week.

I have no problem with that and we fully support the program. What I do have a problem with is the folks wandering around the neighborhood with shopping carts digging through the blue trash cans. Today is trash day, and since I am on vacation from work I had a chance to drive around the neighborhood. Today is trash and recycle day and I must heve seen 5 people digging through the blue trash cans.

I am sure there must be some law being violated. Also this takes away from money the city would normally get for the items. It just really bothers me, and though it is minor I think it is wrong.

On another note, even though I am on vacation, I had to get up and go into work. We just unionized at work, even though I am not a fan of unions and the union guy wants a tour to see what we do. Since all three of us were on vacation I figured I would go in and show him around.

Since I did have to get up I was surprized to see that London was having problems with bombers again. I guess these guys were some really dumb bombers as their bombs malfunctioned. I am glad that no one was hurt.

Tomorrow I have to go to a going away party for one of my coworkers. That is the one thing I dislike about my job. I am the only civilain working in the Ultra High Frequency area, the other two civilains work in High Frequency. The rest of the instructors are active duty military, on shore duty. They are only stationed here for three years and then they are transferred. The time has come for another one to leave, and seeing shipmates leave always makes me feel bad. I guess because I usually lose contact with them over the years.

I used to feel the same way when I was on active duty, whenever I transferred. It is like moving across country and leaving the family behind. Anyway, another buddy leaving and it gives me that empty feeling.

Well I guess that is it for now. The folks should be getting here for their tour any time now.

the wife made it.

Well after a interesting and very stressful day the wife finally made it to Puerto Rico very early this morning. She had a very miserable trip though. First she had the hassle with security that I wrote about yesterday. She almost missed her connecting flight when she got to New York. She had 15 minutes to change planes and somehow made it. I hope her luggage made it too.

She called me once she landed, and she was checking to see if the luggage made it. After seeing the weather front they were going to pass through I couldn't go to sleep last night until I was sure she made it, so I had a very late night last night. I am glad she made it though.

I just finished deleting a bunch of Viagra adds that somehow appeared in my comments sections. I am beginning to hate these darned spam adds that keep showing up on my blog.

Also be careful of some e-mails that have been circulating about paypal and some credit union agency. They are requesting that you reenter all of your paypal account data. It basically told me my paypal account was under suspension and would stay that way until I submitted the requested data. I clicked on the link and it took me to a paypal look alike site. I sensed something was wrong, so I entered a bogus password and then logged off and logged on to the regular paypal site. My account was fine so I then checked the rest of my email and found one from some credit union that I do not even have an account with. The information contained with this one was identical to the paypal letter except for the logo's and stuff, which were for this credit union. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up, the identity thieves are out there alive and well. Be careful with your information and if you get one of these e-mails check with the parent company to see if they did indeed send it.

I am playing Bachelor again this week.

Well the wife is currently on a flight to New York City and then she will be changing planes to goto Ponce, Puerto Rico. She had a death in the family, a cousin, a few weeks ago and I guess they jointly owned some property in Ponce that she is going to sell off to another family member.

She also has some issues to work out with her mother and would rather do it face to face. I don't mind as it has been a while since whe visited her mother and since my mother passed away years ago, I think it is great for her to visit.

I could have probably gone, but all they speak there is Spanish and between having a couple of days before my vacation starts and some work I want to get done around the house I figured I would just stay home and take care of the dogs.

Also they are going to take her cousins body to Milan, Italy as it was his wish to be buried in the land of his birth. Her family is that way, so she will be going to Italy during the trip and since I have let my passport expire, I have another reason to stay home.

Anyway, she is flying on Jet Blue and they have a flight tracker so it has been really cool watching her progress as she is over Kansas right now.

She is furious about one thing. Airport security stoped her as she was going to the gate as the titanium disk in her back set off the metal detector. She carries a note from her doctor for those types of incidents, but I guss they gave her the third degree this time. She called me from the terminal an boy was she hot. Anyway her planewas late leaving so I hope she makes her connecting flight, and that her luggage makes it to the other plane.

She was originally supposed to get to New York at 11:45PM and catch the flight to Ponce at 12:45AM. Now her flight is due to get in at 12:15AM which doesn't give her and her luggage much time. Also I really don't like the weather I am seeing for her flight to Ponce.

Anyway I will let you all know tomorrow that she made it ok as she will call me after I get home from work tomorrow. There is no way I can wait up untilshe lands in Ponce and then still get up for work in the morning.

Oh and by the way, congrats to UHF Systems Maintenance Technician Class 05060 on graduating tomorrow. It was a pleasure teaching you folks and I had a great time at our luncheon today. Fair winds and following seas as you contimue your Naval career.

San Diego has a new Mayor, again.

Well Friday San Diego's Mayor Dick Murphy resigned. Michael Zucchet was appointed acting Mayor of Friday but then he and Ralph Inzunza were convicted of conspiracy, extortion and fraud. So now we have no Mayor and are short two city Councilmen. Actually I was wrong, after checking councilwoman Toni Atkins is Mayor Pro-tem.

It is about time to see some of these corrupt politicians get their day in court and lose. Now if the could get rid of some more of the currupt city council members, it would really be great.

Neither Inzunza or Zucchet are going to resign, which means their districts will have no representation while they are appealing their convictions. I hope they are not getting paid by the taxpayers while they are suspended, but that is to much to ask for. For the good of their constituents they should step aside.

If they do appeal that could take up to a couple of years, which means their districs would be without representation for quite a while. Due to the exstensive jail time they both could end up serving by all means I agree that they should appeal. For the good of the people they need to step down.

Here are the articles.

A lazy Sunday

Well actually I asn't totally lazy, but the hot weather we have been having this weekend made me feel lazy. I managed to get all my chores done, but I think I could have probably done a bit more.

Starting Wednesday I have a month off from work, so I don't really feel very bad about leaving a few things to be done during the week. At least I got the laundry done. The wife's best friends brother was involved in a traffic accident last night and was in the ICU, so the wife was over with her friend at the hospital so I inherited the laundry duty this week.

I also managed to get down to the Navy Exchange gas station and fill up the tank in my car. On the way home I picked up a meal already made from the Ralph's deli section. I got a baked chicken and some macaroni salad. It tasted so good and I didn't have anything to clean up.

On the way home I stopped at 7-11 and got a large slurpee. That hit the spot on a hot day like today. Since getting home I have been trying to find out what was going on at Euclid between Plaza Blvd and 16th street, as National City's Finest had the road blocked off for what looked like a police action. I guess I will have to wait for the news to find out.

Well that was my busy Sunday, and I am still being lazy. Have a great week.

Mexico is our friend, yeah right.

Well in the latest good will from Mexico, Jorge Castaneda, Mexico's former Foreign Minister has called for amnesty for all illegal aliens in the US, increased foreign aid to Mexico, and increasing the level of immigrants to 5 million over the next ten years.

Why don't they just annex the US? Maybe George Bush could just sell the country to Mexico for a bunch of trinkets and beads. I am outraged by this. They will not assist us in our war on terror unless we accept this blackmail. And in the aftermath of what happened in London last week.

Over the past week there have been stories about possible nuclear devices already smuggled into the United States through Mexico. There have been reports of Iraqi's being caught trying to cross the southern border.

We have asked Mexico for assistance with the war on terror and this is what we hear. I say screw Mexico, and it is time to send their lawbreaker’s home along with the Arab lawbreakers, the Asian lawbreakers and any other illegals that are here.

I am also putting my elected officials on notice. If you want my vote you had better do something about this problem. Here is the article.

Mexico's help with terrorists? Not unless U.S. enacts reforms

I am sick of hearing about Aruba

I was following the Natalee Holloway disappearance and feel bad for her family, but enough is enough. I don't think her body will be found as I think it is out in the ocean some where. I also don't think they will ever convict anyone in this case.

I am just tired of seeing it beat to death on the news.

Anyway, a short post today. I am really tired today, probably from the heat.

Wow, what a warm day.

Well it seems like summer is finally here. I am sure lucky I live near the coast as it is only about 80 degrees right now here, but as you go inland it is really hot. It was neat watching the thermometer in my car as I drove from the beach home from work today. It was 73 degrees at the base and it is 80 over where I live which is about 7 miles inland. Quite amazing.

I guess the strip club case against two San Diego City Councilmen has gone to the jury. I think these guys are going to hang as there seemed to be quite a lot of evidence. Anyway, when the verdict comes out I will post about it.

And they had to cancel the shuttle lift off. I thought NASA is making this the safest flight to ever launch. And they are still having problems, hum, if I were a crewmember I would worry a little.

Well that is it for the day. I have some work to do.

Philippines Politics

I heard about this yesterday and since I couldn't find any links I figured I'd wait. Anyway it seems like a group of representatives representing 17 of their 20 political parties are getting together to change their Constitutional form of government to a Parlimentary form of Government. They are also going to oppose and opposition to the Arroyo Presidency while they are trying to impeach her.

This is the biggest bunch of bull I have heard in a while. They already know that there are not enough votes to impeach Arroyo. An so now they are proposing to change the entire form of government? I knew there was a lot of curruption in the government there but these folks are now stooping to new lows.

I feel really bad for the people of the Philippines, as the corruption just keeps getting worse all the time. I will link you to Laila's blog, as she has all the links.
