Today after getting home from part two of my physical I saw the landing of the Jet Blue plane in Los Angeles. That was awesome and I have to give the pilot great credit for a fine landing. My wife flys Jet Blue frequently on her coast to coast travels. Anyway it was awesome to see it land safely.
I have also been watching the reports about Hurricane Rita. I am glad to see that the folks are bailing out of the area and taking the warnings seriously. I was going to run a blogshares charity auction for Katrina, but some things came up and I wasn't able to do it so I will run one for Rita this weekend.
The Physical came out ok but they want to do a few more tests. We will see what that is about in future days. I hope nothing is wrong with me.
Anyway that is tonights entry. Have a great week.

Well I took the weekend off from school and just tried to relax. Yesterday was catchup day so I logged ono the website to see how I was doing, but found that I missed an assignment that was due on Friday. What is worse is that I have a calender for that class. I just keep mixing that one up with another class.
It was nothing dreadful, I just lost 5 points, but it was an easy assignment an should have been easy points. Oh well, I will just have to pay a little more attention to what I am doing.

Tonight I was talking to my oldest daughter, who lives in San Antonio, Texas. I haven't seen her in many years but we have kept in touch. After yesterday's post I have decided to go ahead and meet the future son-in-law, and see the Alamo, as I have always wanted to due that since the old Fess Parket Davey Crockett series on Disney back in the days.
We started talking about she is going to be thirty soon and I am going to be fifty next month. The big five oh is bothering me as I know my physical and mental skills will start going down the tubes.
I then started to make a mental note of some of the things I have done, and things I can do in the future. When I look back at some of my accomplishments I have to go back to school of course. I always received good grades except for 8th grade. That was the first year I got to pick my classes and me a a few friends picked identical classes to have fun. As I look back now all of our fathers were stationed in Vietnam at the time and we all went from "A" students to "D"and "F" students.
I went on to become a fairly good cross-country runner and half miler until I messed up my leg so I joined the Navy.
The Navy taught me electronics, and gave me the opportunity to advance. I was able to buy a house, and also drive ships. That is fun. Anyway, now I am having fun teaching what I learned when I was a technician and it is fun. Anyway that is my post for today. Have a great remainder of the week.

Well I guess I will have to learn to read my e-mail a little more carefully. My oldest daughter is engaged to be married. She sent me an e-mail telling me when and where and I jumped on it, making flight arrangements, hotel and rental car, basically I purchased the hole trip. The wife was not able to go due to previous commitments so I figured I can't miss this one.
I arranged to take time off work and the whole nine yards. She is getting married on October 14th. The only problem is she is getting married on October 14th, 2006 instead of next month. I feel like such an idiot. Anyway I figure I will go anyway, to meet the future husband and also I have always wanted to visit the Alamo. I just have to make sure the job can still support it. They easily approved the days off but I know it will be cutting us a little short on personnel. Anyway, I hope I can still go, as I was very excited about taking the trip.
And then the other good thing is now I can go next year and hopefully the wife can come. She is my oldest daughter from a previous marriage, but I still thing ma would go if given the chance. Anyway thats today's saga of my life.

The Navy is trying to get thier courses accredited more so than in the past. They feel that folks completing Class "C" schools should get a degree. I agree with that. Anyway today we were stormed by many college folks seeing if our teaching meets thier requirements. They are only going to be here for two days and frankly I can't see how they can make that decision until they have sat through the entire course.
Since the Navy has decided to require an AA for advancement to chief, a BA for advancement to Senior Chief, and a masters for advancement to Master Chief, I think it is only fair to give them the college credit that they deserve. But then we don't teach sociology, or any of the other liberal crap that the colleges want us to teach. People advance through performance in the Navy and if I would have been taking time off to go to school I would have never made W-4.
They want us to teach the liberal agenda that the left wants us to teach, so I do not see it happening. Ayway, we gave it our best shot. When they don't see us teaching about how the war is wrong, Bush is Hitler, and that Cheney is Haliburton we will never get accredited. These people didn;t even ask questions, just walked through, telling me thier mind was made up.
Well that is tonights post. I have a miserable cold and I am going to hit the pit so I can fight it off. Have a great day.

San Diego, America's Bankrupt City.
Well I haven't been able to find it on the net, but I heard it on the Roger Hedgecock Show on the way home today and he is usually right on. Anyhow, the City Council has an idea on how to get out of thier pension debacle. They are pondering a pension tax and a pension loan. Why don't they work with the Unions and get the illegal pensions thrown out. Oh and I forgot, they are going to sell off City property as well. These corrupt fools down at City Hall need to get their heads out of their rears and solve this thing, that they themselves caused. It is not up to the taxpayers to bail these fools out every time they screw up. They are in addition to the pension debacle, getting investigated for overcharging the homeowners of San Diego for water and sewage service while supplying businesses discounted service. I hope a few more wind up on the street after this one just like over stripper gate. These folks need to be held accountable.

Well I had a pretty lazy weekend. I cleaned up stuff around the house, did absolutely no schoolwork, and watched a lot of TV. I didn't even keep up with the news or regular sites as I am tired of seeing the finger pointing and all over the hurricane disaster. Anyway I know tomorrow I will have to hit school hot and heavy so I keep caught up. That's what I get for being lazy though. Anyway, I will get to do some of it at work tomorrow since my class graduated on Friday and though I am going to teach antennas to the current class that won't be until about Wednesday or so. Anyway, since I have to get up in the morning I had better cut this short. I hope everyone has a great week.

Well here I am again moaning and groaning about group work in school. Last week in one of my classes the group other than me was missing in action. I did the assignment all by myself, and aced it. the teacher realized that many were not participating and reorganized the groups. Again this week I did the assignment and not one person showed up. Well I'll get my grade but I am really unhappy about it.

I was so busy getting caught up on school work that once I managed to get caught up, I just played a few Neopets games and went to bed early.
I guess I only hav one thing on my mind besides school work and that is the blame game going on over the hurricane. First I started out sympathetic and made a donation to the American Red Cross right away. I then went through a period of mourning for the dead and dying. Now after seeing all the stuff that is going on with the politicians and all I am just plain angry. I am also angry at the news media. They aren't reporting on the good things that have happened. They aren't reporting on the folks taken in by the kind folks of the cities and states in the area.
No they are trying to pin the blame on the President and this is just wrong. Facts: The president can not constitutionally send troops into any area of the country without permission from the Governor of that state. The president declared the area a disaster area two days prior to it making landfall. He called the Governor asking her to evacuate her state. She balked, when she could have asked for assistance. This lady should be fired. Then there is the Mayor of New Orleans. He too had to be called and begged to evacuate his people. What did he do, told everyong to evacuate and then knowing that most of the people in the city were too poor to evacuate, he locked up all the busses in an area prone to flooding.
They ran this scenerio 13 months ago and found out that the results of today would happen. After the great failure 13 months ago they did nothing to correct the situation. They just counted on the New Orleans luck to get them by. After all they haven't been hit with the big one in 40 years. Well guess what, you can't avoid things forever.
And then the blamers of the Government. Just to lt you know the local and state folks are the first responders in a situation like this. Of course in New Orleans they are having to offer free vacations to Las Vegas to lure back the 60% that decided to dissappear when the going got tough. The federal government cleans up after the disaster not before or during, and can by law only come in when asked. By the time the Mayor and Governor decided they were in trouble and called in for help, much of it was on it's way to Mississippi and Alabama.
You don't hear the folks in Mississippi or Alabama complaining about lack of help. Why, because they got help fast and news crews were not able to find any Bush bashing stories there. New Orleans on the other hand is full of just what the press wants to show. Shootings, rapes, dead bodies are giving these clowns the visual props to try and persuade the people that the feds are at fault. I guess the feds could have cloud seeded it and changed it's direction? Maybe the could have mounted a big vacuum leaner on the international space station and sucked it out of there. Or maybe if they brought back all the planes from Iraq and Afganistan they could have them all enter the storm and fly against the wind and thus cause it to die down.
But then I did hear the real reason on a local radio show. The reason the government did't do anything was because they wanted it to hit hard so Halyburton could charge more for the cleanup.
