Abu Ghraib

I am getting so fed up with some of these activist judges expressing their opinion from the bench I could scream. It is time to start impeaching these fools. Maybe that would get their attention, but I doubt it. Somehow our entire justice system has managed to really get screwed up. All of the gay rights stuff, the eminent domain ruling where your land can be taken away by anyone who has the ability to develop it, and even taking of under God from the Pledge of Allegiance is ridiculous. Anymore I feel the majority is not being represented by the courts, just minority crackpot groups. Anyway, here is the story.

Judge Orders Release of Abu Ghraib Photos

All this is going to do is wind up with the new pictures being shown on Arab TV an still up a bunch of crap. I am beginning to hate seeing what my country has become.

You have Cindy Sheehan running around spouting her BS all over the place and the Main Stream Media highlighting it. What would have happened if this woman did the same thing toward Roosevelt during WW2? She would have been run out of the country, that's what.

I am ashamed to be from a state that has people like Nancy Pelosi talking about the corruption of the current administration over the Tom Delay thing, and this is obviously a political hack job. I am also represented by Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein who voted against Roberts for Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. How these folks got elected I will never know.

I am also upset with the current administration, as they still haven't done a thing about illegal immigration and I am watching them give money away to the south like it is going out of style.

How about checking out what damage there is and what needs to be done before flushing this money down the toilet. I'd like to know how much money people donated to the Salvation Army, Red Cross and the other agencies. My family gave the night the storm hit, and I am sure many, the majority of the country did. With all that money rolling in why does the federal government have to give so much?

And then today there are reports that police in New Orleans were video taped looting. My, isn't this impressive. And what about the debit cards that was passed out in Houston that were used to by booze and hookers?

And I am really angry at the fact that congress didn't ask any questions of the Governor of Louisiana, about her totally inept leadership, because she asked then not to. It is time to run all these bums out of office and get some new blood in congress and the White House, and by that I do not mean Hillary Clinton. It is time to get some Independents, Libertarians, and some non-politicians in there for a change. The folks that are there now pass nothing but pork spending bills and of course their pay raises. I say get rid of all of them.

Oop's I didn't post yesterday.

I just noticed I forgot to blog yesterday. Yesterday was catch up on the school work day. Since I was ill on Monday, I just went to bed and said to hell with the homework. Well I got hot yesterday and got all of it done except for 1 essay test question and so now I am all caught up.

Actually one part was really hard. I had to get a conversation between a male and a female and transcribe it. Then determine things like who interrupted, who demonstrated good listening techniques and things like that. Well I decided I would do the assignment on the O'Reilly Factor since he usually gets some good arguements on his show. Well I taped it on Monday, and there were no female guests. So I taped it again last night and low and behold, Michelle Malkin was a guest and they were discussing the death of Air America.

I figured I would tape it and play it back little by little and transcribe it. Well, it wound up taking me about 2 hours to do about a two minute segment. Why, because Bill O'Reilly interrupts his guests too often making it hard to get all the words they say down. Anyway I got it done and, whew, that is it for the week.

My neighbor bought a boat last week and brought it home. It takes up his entire driveway and so they decided to add a cement driveway to his back yard and then park the boat on a cement slab. Well they are doing it on the side of his house that is next to my fence and it has been driving the dogs bonkers. You would figure they would get tired of barking, but they don't. Oh well it will be dark soon, and the workers will go home and they will calm down.

Anyway I guess that is about it for today.

Exciting Day

Well today was different, as we lost power this morning about 9:30 in the morning at work. Hard to teach electronics without electricity. Anyway, when the power goes out we have to secure all of our equipment and get all of our students to evacuate our building, so we did that. After about an hour the boss went ahead and told us to let our classes go for the day, which I did. The staff had to stay around, but that was ok. Anyway, the power came back on after a while and I got all my equipment restroed and set up for tomorrows class. They then let me go for the day. I had all good attentions of doing some school work today, but I had a little running around to do so I decided to get that taken care of. I had to drop off some medical stuff at the lab as part of my physical. I did that after grabbing a sandwich for lunch. I then had to buy a video tape as I have to transcribe a conversation for a school assignment. I figure I will tape the O'Rielly Factor tonight. I should get an interesting transcription from that show. Anyway after I got home, up came the lunch. I have had what I thought was a touch of the flu or something the last couple of days and though it didn't feel good having it come up, I feel a little better since my stomach is empty. I guess I will stick to soup the next couple of days. So tonight I guess I will just tape the show and that will be the extent of my school work for today. I can play catchup during the rest of the week, as I have hard enough time studying this semester let alone try and do it when I am sick.

I see Cindy Sheehan got arrested today, but I think this will only elevate her cause. The MSM will be advertising her all over the place. It is so sad that this woman is being exploited by all of the far left. She is doing a dis-service to her son and anyone who has worn the uniform. I was listening to Laura Ingraham this morning and one of her callers mimicked my feelings. He was saying the reason there are so few pro-war pro-troop people out picketing is because we don't have time. We all have jobs and responsibilities.

Today I watched Shepard Smith from Fox News get into it with a councilman from New Orleans. The councilman was saying that people would be moving back into New Orleans and Shepard was flabbergasted. And I agree with him. The flooded houses need to be demolished and bulldozed, then the land needs to be decontaminated before they can ever think of rebuilding.

I am beginning to think the San Diego City Council is running New Orleans. Do they really think people can just move in and wipe down the walls and live there. I don't think so, mainly because the walls are going to have deep contamination inside the walls. If they just move in they are looking to catch diseases.

Also what is with all the money and who is going to keep an eye on it. And why are they hiring illegal aliens for the cleanup? They should get some of the displaced welfare folks to clean up thier own city.

I also had another thought. These areas are prone to hurricanes, yet they have above ground electricity. They should have underground utilities in waterproof conduit. That way they wouldn't have these power lines blowing down every year. Just a thought.

Well that is the start of my week, hope you all have a good one.

Boring weekend

This was a boring weekend. I guess I am just getting old, but I didn't feel like doing much of anything. I won a lot of picture pieces playing games on Neopets and greatly improved my wealth in blogshares, but other than that and a few chores around the house I accomplished nothing.

I downloaded my homework and assignments from school but couldn't get into it today. I have better luck doing it during breaks at work. At home there are just too many other interesting things to do, since I am so bored with the classes I am taking.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great week. I am going to hit the pit so I can get up in the morning.

Hurricane Rita

I have been watching the coverage of the hurricane on Fox News Channel. Thier coverage has been pretty good. It looks like the big surge they were worried about won't happen since it has turned a bit, but this still looks like it will be very bad.

At least it seems like the folks in Texas were far more prepared then the folks in New Orleans. Yeah they had problems getting all the people out because of the freeway problems, but when you look at the amount of folks that had to evacuate, you have to give them a well done. I hope there is not a whole lot of damage.

Anyway God be with you people of southeast Texas.

Evacuation

I have been watching the the evacuation of Texas and I would have figured it would have gone a little better than what is happening after the New Orlean's fiasco. I have no clue why they didn't open up all lanes out of the areas affected. Also where are the police, they could have sped this up a bit.

What is nice to see is that the folks are actually leaving, as this will keep the human toll down. I just feel really bad for all the folks that will suffer property damage as a result of such a powerful storm. They are in my prayers.

I was watching the O'Rielly Factor tonight and saw the arguement he got into with Phil Donahue. Donahue is such an ass. No wonder he no longer has a TV show. The Cindy Sheehan movement has died. People are now more focused on the storms and less focused on her terrorists are freedom fighters crap.

I hope her big rally turns into a big flop.

Well that is about it for today as I spent most of the evening so far doing school work and taking quizzes. Time to relax a bit.

Wow

Today after getting home from part two of my physical I saw the landing of the Jet Blue plane in Los Angeles. That was awesome and I have to give the pilot great credit for a fine landing. My wife flys Jet Blue frequently on her coast to coast travels. Anyway it was awesome to see it land safely.

I have also been watching the reports about Hurricane Rita. I am glad to see that the folks are bailing out of the area and taking the warnings seriously. I was going to run a blogshares charity auction for Katrina, but some things came up and I wasn't able to do it so I will run one for Rita this weekend.

The Physical came out ok but they want to do a few more tests. We will see what that is about in future days. I hope nothing is wrong with me.

Anyway that is tonights entry. Have a great week.

I am a Moron, again

Well I took the weekend off from school and just tried to relax. Yesterday was catchup day so I logged ono the website to see how I was doing, but found that I missed an assignment that was due on Friday. What is worse is that I have a calender for that class. I just keep mixing that one up with another class.

It was nothing dreadful, I just lost 5 points, but it was an easy assignment an should have been easy points. Oh well, I will just have to pay a little more attention to what I am doing.

Reflections

Tonight I was talking to my oldest daughter, who lives in San Antonio, Texas. I haven't seen her in many years but we have kept in touch. After yesterday's post I have decided to go ahead and meet the future son-in-law, and see the Alamo, as I have always wanted to due that since the old Fess Parket Davey Crockett series on Disney back in the days.

We started talking about she is going to be thirty soon and I am going to be fifty next month. The big five oh is bothering me as I know my physical and mental skills will start going down the tubes.

I then started to make a mental note of some of the things I have done, and things I can do in the future. When I look back at some of my accomplishments I have to go back to school of course. I always received good grades except for 8th grade. That was the first year I got to pick my classes and me a a few friends picked identical classes to have fun. As I look back now all of our fathers were stationed in Vietnam at the time and we all went from "A" students to "D"and "F" students.

I went on to become a fairly good cross-country runner and half miler until I messed up my leg so I joined the Navy. The Navy taught me electronics, and gave me the opportunity to advance. I was able to buy a house, and also drive ships. That is fun. Anyway, now I am having fun teaching what I learned when I was a technician and it is fun. Anyway that is my post for today. Have a great remainder of the week.

I am a moron

Well I guess I will have to learn to read my e-mail a little more carefully. My oldest daughter is engaged to be married. She sent me an e-mail telling me when and where and I jumped on it, making flight arrangements, hotel and rental car, basically I purchased the hole trip. The wife was not able to go due to previous commitments so I figured I can't miss this one.

I arranged to take time off work and the whole nine yards. She is getting married on October 14th. The only problem is she is getting married on October 14th, 2006 instead of next month. I feel like such an idiot. Anyway I figure I will go anyway, to meet the future husband and also I have always wanted to visit the Alamo. I just have to make sure the job can still support it. They easily approved the days off but I know it will be cutting us a little short on personnel. Anyway, I hope I can still go, as I was very excited about taking the trip.

And then the other good thing is now I can go next year and hopefully the wife can come. She is my oldest daughter from a previous marriage, but I still thing ma would go if given the chance. Anyway thats today's saga of my life.
