After eating breakfast at Marco Polo Prince Deli, we laid around and watched a movie on TV and in the meantime I had given the kids some Hong Kong dollars and told them to meet us about 11:30 in the lobby. Cochita got lost in the hotel but we found her at about 11:15 and then we went to the restaurant where her employer was working. We met with them in a Chinese Restaurant in the Gateway building, but when we tried to get a table we were informed that the place was full and they would not be able to accomodate us. So we went ahead and decided to eat elsewhere. Earlier at our hotel I had asked one of the receptionists where a goodf buffet could be found in Hong Kong and he told me the Marco Pole Prince Spice Market had one, and he also recommended a few other hotels. We decided to try the Prince and when we got there the place was awesome. They had Chinese, Japanese and Thai food and they even had authentic Malaysian dancers for entertainment. We decided we wanted to eat there but were told they were also full. We informed them that we were guests of the hotel and Laila used her charm to talk the guy into letting us stay. Actually they set up a table for us in the Prince Deli, which was connected to the Spice Market. The food was great and we really stuffed ourselves. The place was so much better than the snooty Chinese place Conchita's employer ate at. Anyway we were there about half an hour when Cochita got a call from her employer, that it was time to go. I thought that was pretty unfair since we traveled all that way to visit her among other things. Anyway Laila and I had gone back to the buffet for some more food when the employer walked through and asked where we were sitting. Laila pointed out where we were and when we returned Cochita and her employer were gone, without even a goodbye. We talked about how bad the employer was treating her sister even though her sister thought she was being treated fairly. After eating we went back to the room, and we got back jsut in time because it started raining. We decided to stay in the hotel until the rain stopped and then we went to a few markets near Mong Kok station and we all bought some clothes. I got a little upset because we kept losing the kids, but I got over it. We stopped at KFC for dinner and the place smelled funny and the chicken was not very good at all. We then all went back to the room and started packing for our return flight. I had wanted to take Laila on the Star Ferry and up to Victoria Peak, but with the weather being bad we will have to do it next time. We did have a great time and I hope that we can make another vacation weekend on my next visit. We are thinking about going to Jakarta to visit Reignman and some of our other ID friends. |
